NBC’s adaptation of The Sixth Gun graphic novels has found its lead. Laura Ramsey (The Ruins) will star in the Carlton Cuse-produced pilot. Written by Ryan Condal, directed by Jeffrey Reiner and produced by Uni TV, The Sixth Gunis a supernatural Western which follows the story of six mythical guns, each with its own other-worldly powers. When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, a farmer’s daughter named Becky Montcrief (Ramsey), dark forces reawaken. Vile men, long thought dead, set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing Becky.
Ramsey, repped by CAA, CAA, KLWGN and Craig Emanuel, joins W. Earl Brown, Graham McTavish and Aldis Hodge who also were cast in the pilot today. She next plays the female lead in Matthew Weiner’s You Are Here and in Lionsgate’s The Mexican Singer.
